Mullet
If you've seen Colby in the last few months you've seen his long hair. It's cute, but it's scheduled to be cut on Saturday. One of the first tricks dad taught Colby was to flick the back of his hair when someone asks, "Colby, where's your mullet?" It's pretty funny. Anyway, the mullet will be gone on Saturday so I took a few pictures of his little curls...
Supper Club
April events
The first part of April we didn't see "da" too much, but since the 15th we've been able to spend more time together. We went to a picnic where silly string was a huge hit, saw Wool E. Bull at a garden center (the Durham Bulls mascot), played with the water hose, and tried out a new trike.
Colby's vocabulary is growing every day. Just this weekend he started saying lawnmower (it kind of sounds like mama, but will a couple extra syllables), he says:
ma-ma (finally!)
da
boo-boo
plane
help
bottle
lawnmower
water
babies (he likes to point them out to us)
bike
ball
truck
choo-choo
sit (this is just about a command)
sleep
cracker
Hershey
Shelby
banana
bus
Easter weekend
The Easter bunny was very generous to Colby, and Colby got to visit will lots of family from both sides. We went to his cousin's baseball game (NC Wesleyan - they won!), and visited with aunts, uncles, cousins, both grandmas, grandpa, and his great-grandfather. We tried to sit through church, but didn't quite make it. Luckily the weather was nice so mom and Colby spent most of the service in the courtyard. Colby loves to help in the yard, and play in his new sandbox so the Easter bunny brought lots of "digging" toys. Colby was invited to a neighborhood Easter egg hunt so we practiced a few days before, in rain boots. He never quite got the whole "get as many eggs as you can" thing - he was happy with one for each hand. Maybe next year the greed will sink in. He also got his first boo-boo just before Easter - a skinned knee. I'm sure we'll have lots more of those!
Spring!
